Major Russian Attacks Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has requested "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks follow periods of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
